More Than A Meeting of the Minds
Greetings Dad,
Well it’s about that time of the year when we come together to strategize for the upcoming football season. I am encouraging each dad to invite a new dad to partake in this year’s meeting. We will again run our meeting concurrently with the Mother’s Association in Jersey City, NJ, so if you and your wife are planning to attend make sure you plan to spend your time with us. I am looking forward to seeing all of you and getting the opportunity to introduce a new concept to this association.
In our past years together we have tried to always provide guest speakers to share insight and information about the NFL, our son’s benefits and much more. This year due to the economic crisis we are all a part of, I have decided to limit our speakers and concentrate more on building our existing programs and partnerships collectively during our time together.
As we continue to function as a body of men who are parents to an elite group of young men, it is our obligation to help make their lives both impacting and rewarding both on and off the field. When we see and hear the problems our young men are dealing with both professional and personal we cannot sit idle and not be in a position to offer wise counsel or good advice to every young man in need in the NFL. As our mission and purpose have been defined we must now put into practice that which we preach, assistance, example, support and encouragement.
Every man in life has a mandate to be all that he can be and be the best man and father that he will allow himself to be. I’m grateful for the men that come out in support of NFPFA and pray that more men who have a son, nephew or mentee playing in the NFL will see the importance of building this association to be a strong fraternity of men that can help build more directed young men for both now and the future.
It all starts with catching and then understanding the vision of the National Football Players Fathers Association July 9th – 12th in Jersey City, NJ. So please adjust your personal schedules and make plans to come out and help us make this 2009 Preseason Meeting a Great Success.
Hope to See You There!
