Half Way Mark

We are entering the half way mark (Week 8) of the NFL regular season. This year has seen some exciting games, individual performances, teams with undefeated records and teams still looking for a win.

This is the time for adjustments. Coaches are looking to make tweaks in game planning and preparation on how best to defend the run, how to score in the redzone and how to manage the 2-minute drill.

While coaches are fine tuning their playbook, we encourage the players to make the necessary adjustments in their personal playbook of life. We have seen the best of our athletes and unfortunately the worst sides of them as well lately. But through it all, fathers sometimes have to take the difficult stance in letting their sons know when their behavior is unacceptable just as they are praised when they are doing great. Fatherhood is an ongoing process that doesn't stop when children turn 18, but begins a new role, that as advisors and counselors.

Take the time to reassess your goals, priorities and character. And remember that while you are wearing the NFL jersey and carrying its brand and name, you are also carrying and showcasing your families name as well.
